Quilt block patterns are versatile. They're a perfect choice when you're making a scrappy quilt, and don't need cutting instructions for tons of identical blocks. Single patterns work nicely for quilt block swaps, too, or for sampler quilts if you'd like to mix and match block types and sizes.
